What is Leeuwarden Student City?

Student life is often described as the best time of your life. Leeuwarden Student City (LSC for short) would like to help you make your study time as enjoyable, fun, and memorable as possible so that you can look back on a great student time.

With this goal in mind, Leeuwarden Student City was founded in December 1999 by the educational institutions NHL, Stenden University of Applied Sciences, and Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences. In the meantime, NHL and Stenden Hogeschool have joined forces and merged, Van Hall Larenstein is still around, and the Campus of the University of Groningen and Firda have also joined us.

Mission Leeuwarden Student City

Leeuwarden Student City Foundation is committed to captivating and engaging students in and around Leeuwarden, with the ultimate goal of improving their overall student experience and strengthening their ties to the city. In doing so, Leeuwarden Student City plays an important role in promoting Leeuwarden as an attractive destination for students and graduates. This mission is important not only for current students, but also for future students in making their study choices.

What does Leeuwarden Student City do?

To achieve this, Leeuwarden Student City uses three different methods: as an implementing organization organizing activities for and with students, as a network partner seeking cooperation with other organizations and third-party events, and as a central information source where students can go for useful information about student life through this website and social media channels. Check our events, hotspots, and media for more information.

Who are we?

Leeuwarden Student City consists of a small and close team of permanent staff working closely with the nicest parties, the Leeuwarden educational institutions and of course the nicest students. These enthusiastic students help us organize cool events and projects or do internships with us. Sporty students give sports lessons and other research what is going on among the students so that we can map out their wishes and needs and respond to them.
