50,000th exhibition receives original Escher in Fries Museum

A little more than a month after the opening of Escher, the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden received the 50,000th visitor today. Julie and Robert Bloemer were received in a festive manner by director Kris Callens. They were put in the spotlight with a real print by Maurits Cornelis Escher. The exhibition, which has been sold out since the opening, is enthusiastically received by visitors and (inter)national media. For the time being, visitors rate the exhibition with an average of 8.4. The exhibition opened on 28 April and can still be seen until 28 October.

Julie and Robert Bloemer from Abcoude went to the Fries Museum especially for Escher. Escher on tour is popular. After the constant interest, the Fries Museum recently extended its opening hours. The museum is open an hour earlier until the end of the exhibition on 28 October; from 10.00.
